Meditation Meets Trap Music
Meditation has been something that I’ve always wanted to do, but it’s been a constant struggle. With being a single mom, it’s hard for me to get any alone/quiet time and when I do…it’s usually consumed with catching up on television, reading or a little shut eye. Let’s be real…working 10 hour days and then taking care of twins and their daily needs isn’t always the easiest (but I sure wouldn’t trade it). I have to make it a habit to set aside some me time for meditation and that has been one of my goals for the month of August.
Last week, my bestie Kim posted a screen shot on her instagram story of a Meditation Mixtape by Shelah Marie and I decided to check it out. Kim and I have very similar tastes in a lot of things in life, so it was no surprise when I fell in love with this new set of meditation jamz. It’s like trap music meets meditation. No seriously….it is.
For those of you that are beginners in meditation to those who are experienced and just looking for something new and fun to meditate to, this is for you. It’s become a part of my daily routine and I listen to it at least once a day. It’s soothing but also appeals to the music lover in me. Helps me to stay centered and focused. Give it a try and let me know what you think.
I’m always looking for ways to improve my mind, body and soul and am quite new to mediation. What types, tricks, apps or playlists do you guys suggest that I listen to?
