Good Reads | Unglued – Making Wise Choices in the Midst of Raw Emotions

I’ve spent the past couple of years incorporating reading into my life heavily. If any of you know me, you know that I HATED reading with a passion. I felt like the only way for me to grow as a person was to get healthy…mind, body and soul….and that included reading more often (*insert eye roll*). Last year I set a goal of 12 books, hoping to conquer one a month. I surprisingly exceeded that goal and managed to knock out 15 books. I was really proud of myself for accomplishing this. And believe it or not….I actually like reading now.

This years goal is to read 14. My latest read was “Unglued – Making Wise Choices in the Midst of Raw Emotions” by Lysa TerKeurst. I was a huge fan of her Uninvited book and I wanted to dive into more of her novels. If you’re into spiritual, uplifting books….this one is for you. I like to read books that help me grow as a person with a religious twist on them. Lysa (and yes, we are on a first name basis now. afterall, I did read TWO of her books. lol) does a great job of giving examples of becoming unglued and how she reacted or might have reacted. We’re all human, we all go through things and sometimes it’s just not that easy to keep calm in certain situations. She will give you some great incite on this and help you for future encounters (let’s just pray that there are few lol).

Overall, I’d rate the book a 7 out of 10.

I need to get some more books under my belt. What are you all reading at the moment?

Nay, sis I have the absolutely best book for you to add to your list! “The Grace Awakening,” by Charles R. Swindoll! I simply love him, this is the second book of his that I’ve read. The first one of his I read is entitled, “Getting Through The Tough Stuff,” and both were gifts! Simply powerful and very much life application too sis! Trust me, I put it on everything you’d enjoy this and walk away a far better person with tools to help you mature into an even better person/woman of God, and a better human period!
