Happy Birthday To Me (dirty 30 edition)

Wow, I can’t even believe that I’m here writing this. 3 decades of my life have literally flashed before my eyes. It’s kind of bittersweet actually.

My twenties have been filled with some of the best (and even worst) memories of my life. From heartbreak, children, purchasing my first home and car, my dream job and even winning a Southern Conference Championship in college, I’ve experienced A LOT in the past 10 years.

29 was especially a growing year for me. Divorce, becoming a single mom, baptism, and most importantly, learning to lean on God have been some of the things that have occurred. And what I’m most proud of is that I took all of this with a postive attitude and came out better than before. I have truly been blessed in more ways than one. I learned to trust in God even when the picture wasn’t so perfect. That after the rain comes the rainbow. I’ve also been very fortunate to weed out the people I didn’t need in my life while gaining some friendshipd that I will forever cherish!

So as I say goodbye to my twenties, I want to thank them for the memories, for bettering me as a person and for showing me that the best has yet to come! Thirties….I look forward to applying the lessons learned in my twenties and making this the BEST decade of my life!

Happy Birthday to Me!

xoxo

Jin - I can’t believe that we are turning thirty this year….time has passed so fast.
You are truly an inspiration to me. I hope that I can continue to weather the storm with a positive attitude and trust that although things don’t look clear, God has a plan for me. I’m alive and it could be worse.
I happy belated Birthday doll….this year is going to be amazing!

Tatum’s First Haircut (2.21.14)

Dreadfully, the day finally came! Tatum needed his first haircut!

I had originally expected to go to another barbershop, but it did not open at the time it was supposed to, so I decided to jump on foursquare and try to find another barbershop near us. In my search, Fadeologist barbershop, inc. came up. I gave them a call and happily, they were open.

When we arrived, all of the barbers were very friendly and professional. Kerry was the only barber unoccupied, so he took Tatum. He prepared to put Tatum in the booster seat, but Tatum refused to sit there by himself and the noise of the clippers didn’t help. I ended up sitting in the chair with him on my lap and Kerry gave him a lollipop to keep him calm!

I am so very proud of my little man! He didn’t cry or complain and stayed very still for the entire cut. He was so good that even another barber came by to ask if it was his first cut. I told him yes and he replied “man, he sits more still than I do!” lol – again, proud mommy over here.

Overall our experience at Fadeologist was a great one and I would recommend the shop and especially Kerry to anyone! So glad that I got to partake in this special moment!!

Happy Friday, y’all!

Snowmaggedon | Part III (02.13.14)

Once again, we’ve been snowed in! It’s been kind of a crazy winter here in Georgia. Last we experienced snow, an ice storm, rain, 50 degree temps and even an earthquake. Yes, an earthquake! I wish this weather would make up it’s mind and decide whether or not it’s winter or springy or even Georgia vs. California. LOL

After 3 days of being trapped in the house, cabin fever began to set in once again. I decided to take the twins out to play in the snow after their mid-day nap, but to my surprise, the ice/snow was postly melted into slush. The twins still had a good time playing outdoors and OF COURSE I captured every minute of it!

Hoping this is the last of the snow for a while. It was fun at first, but being trapped in the house with two energetic almost 2 year olds, can be exhausting. Anywho…here are our pics from last week:

Snowmaggedon Part II | (1.29.14)

So it’s getting ready to snow again the next couple of days, so I figured I better get these pics out here before another influx of pictures are taken!

At this point during Snowmaggedon, we started to have cabin fever. So I took the babies out once again to get some play time in the snow!

Enjoy!

Snowmaggedon Part I :: 01.28.14

Well, we had quite an eventful week in Georgia last week! The snow came….and it conquered Georgia! Snow fall started around noon Tuesday afternoon and kept us in the house until Friday. The city literally snowballed into something unimaginable. People were trapped on highways, in schools,  stores….you name it…it happened! It took some take 20+ hours to get home in the madness. I’ve never seen anything like it in my 17 years here in Atlanta.

Despite all of that, this was the twins FIRST time experiencing the snow and they absolutely loved it! We got to play in the snow for two days (Part II will come later).  They didn’t seem to mind the cold one bit. It was so fun to watch them explore and experience all of this! It also made for a great opportunity to capture them on my camera! Snow is obviously rare here…so I took a ton of photos! I hope you guys enjoy them as much as I do!

Oh…and please excuse my children’s mismatched clothes lol. They spent the day at grandma’s and remained in their PJ’s!
